Just a little job…

During the October visit there was one minor job that I was allowed to attempt with Peters assistance – fixing four hooks for curtain tiebacks to the wall. So with me handling the difficult task of marking the wall for the hole and Peter with the drill in hand we proceeded quickly and efficiently with the first three going up quickly we then moved on to the final one….

With the drill in hand Peter carefully started drilling and suddenly we both saw a spark. Peter took the drill out and while looking at the small missing chunk in the side Sue shouted from the kitchen "Any reason why the power is off to the fridge"? Peter and I looked at each other with that knowing look! So with a hammer and bolster we chiseled off some plaster and sure enough are fears were confirmed we had drilled straight through a diagonally running cable run!

And of course the tube (Gaine) contained 8 cables! So the next day was spent running new cables and the quick job took 8 hours not 8 minutes!
