On 22 October 2005 we became owners of a 200 year old farmhouse set in around 2 acres in the northeast Dordogne. Located on the edge of a tiny hamlet (3 houses) with the nearest shop 7 km away this a real rural retreat. We have never seen so many stars in the night sky or slept anywhere so quiet. It is a wonderful location.
This is a 10 year project, with the aim being to eventually spend 3-6 months a year there when work and children permit.
We hope this site will be a record of the next few years and our progress in both renovating the house and learning more about life in France.
