Dordogne Retreat - a farmhouse tale

We made a trip over to the house in October for a week and it was nearly all a real holiday! This strange and unusual occurence was caused by enforced recuperation from some minor surgery on my shoulder!

The week got off to a very good start as Peter and Felicity had been down for the week before so when we arrived the house was warm and clean, and more inportantly a delicious meal was awaiting us!

So the week was relatively quiet with some nice trips out including a visit to Objat, one of our favourite Sunday market towns. We arrived to find that it was the annual 'Fete de la Pomme'. Being an apple growing area they take their apples very seriously around here. Seeing a map of world made from apples and a apple tart 5 metres across were just some of the highlights!

We have safely returned to the UK after our working vacation. it really feels that we have turned a corner on the renovations as we have now 'closed off' the part of the house yet to be done by completing the landing. Perhaps I can now go there and just relax (somehow I doubt it).

But we can keep an eye on progress on the pool (and other areas) via the CCTV system we have installed linked to the internet. Here is an example image captured today
