Dordogne Retreat - a farmhouse tale

From a 'work' perspective 2010 is drawing to a close and what a good year it has been. Being able to spend around 12 weeks in France has allowed us to make great progress. One new bathroom, one bathroom totally re-vamped (just a few finishing touches left), new bathroom window and new doors and window at the front. 

While there is still a lot to be done we are well over half way now. With renovation jobs like this it is always important to look at what you have achieved, rather than what you have left to do. This website has been great in reminding us of just what we have done.

.... just to prove that occasionally I allow myself a little R&R took a few photos while in the swimming pool. The water reached 24C so it wasn't too difficult a task getting in (at least for me)!

With the temperature in the high 20's over the weekend, blue skies and the odd hour not taken up with projects we did manage a BBQ or two on the terrace, they were wonderful!

The webcam caught this a week or so ago! At least it isn't a Loir!

We are very lucky to be able to walk down to the local river through the woods of our neighbours. Whatever time of the year it is always enjoyable, even if walking backup the hill is sometimes a little heavy going.
